I’m black and I hate that mess. I am more for authenticity. I don’t want to watch a movie about ancient Norway and see a black guy with dreads like all these movies seem to do.
I’m not saying things can’t be diverse. In real life, people travel and have sex. People mix. People are everywhere. You can find a Japanese person in the Amazon jungle. All I am saying is race should not be a focus. Just cast whoever works. When it comes to historic based movies, Keep it authentic!
Mostly white guys fought in WW2 and that’s okay.
The military kept blacks down and together and that’s okay to put in movies.
It happened. It is what it is. Just don’t put black lesbian female commanders with white wives in the 1940’s American military. That’s fake AF!!
Just write a movie, and cast accordingly.
If it is a historic movie, be accurate. If it’s just a movie, do what you want. Just don’t make race a focus or your characters will be dry.
New movies suck because of this.
